Sharon Shenkar - Lead Vocalist
Sharon had an early life goal to uplift people through live performance. As a lead vocalist, especially on a wedding, her philosophy is to ensure that the bride shines, and that the guests are happy . From an early age, she performed consistently in musical and dramatic plays and choral works in New York, including work with her former teacher and mentor, Gene Feist, founder of the Tony-award winning, "Roundabout Theater" in NYC. She performed as a singer in and around Chicago, and performed lead roles in several plays including an award-winning musical, “I Take It Black” (Nancy Rawles), co-starring with Micheal Grief (RENT) and worked as a dancer and choreographer. She Also studied and apprenticed with the world-renowned vocal educator and performer Jeannie Deva. Sharon is a songwriter and is Executive Director of Shenkar Music, an innovative in-home and studio music program, and Music 4 All , a web-based music education and tools resource. She is forever grateful to her partner and vocal coach, Musical Director, Yury Shenkar for his selfless support and so much more. She has been a member of the Sharp Cats band since 2000 and is thrilled to be a part of it. |
